1. The concept
The experience is based on the urban legend of the Backrooms: a parallel dimension made of empty, repetitive and unsettling mazes. Psychological principle: the use of liminal spaces (transition areas usually full, here empty and familiar) to create a feeling of isolation. Format: a nighttime experience (from 7 pm until the next morning) including 4 to 5 hours of actual gameplay depending on the room and an overnight stay.
2. The rooms (by difficulty level)
Room 1 — Easy (from age 10)
- Set: yellow walls, damp carpet, buzzing neon lights.
- Gameplay: exploration and mapping. No threat (no monsters).
Room 2 — Standard (from age 14)
- Set: industrial warehouse, pipework, regular power cuts.
- Gameplay: resource hunting and stress management. Live actors (entities).
Room 3 — Hardcore (from age 16)
- Set: total darkness, alarm signals, aggressive sound stimuli.
- Gameplay: extreme horror — relentless chase by the actors.
3. Logistics and accommodation
- Accommodation: the immersion continues with an overnight stay in minimalist themed rooms (yellow walls).
- Catering (lore-accurate): a survival-simulation meal during the break, with Almond Water (the lore’s iconic drink) and dense survival rations. Breakfast free only if you win (€6 option otherwise).
- Terms: teams of 2 to 10 players, decreasing rate.
Why three levels?
The three-room segmentation widens the addressable audience: the easy level (from age 10) opens the experience to families and younger players, the standard level is the flagship offer, and the hardcore level captures thrill-seekers. Each segment generates its own revenue stream.
